Luis at the piano

My path in music

I began my piano journey at the age of eighteen.

That experience taught me something I now build every lesson on: music making is not reserved solely for those who begin in early childhood.

As a professional pianist and educator, my mission is to break down the barriers of traditional training. I aim to provide an individual and empathetic teaching style, focused on developing both skill and confidence.

Whether you are an adult learner or a student seeking a more empathetic approach, my goal is to guide you towards finding your own voice at the keyboard.

Before we start

The questions adult learners ask me.

I started late. Is that a problem?

I started at eighteen and went on to a conservatory. Beginning as an adult changes the method, not the ceiling. What it mostly changes is how carefully we use your practice time.

What if I miss a week?

Nothing is lost. I use the reserved time to record a personalised video review based on your recent practice, and you find it waiting in your private portal.

How does payment work?

The monthly pass is billed securely and automatically each month, and the plan can be changed with the required advance notice. Single sessions are paid through Stripe or PayPal.

How much do I need to practice?

Your practice time depends on your availability and the pieces you are currently playing. Nevertheless, I want your practice time to be enjoyable and efficient, so I would recommend one or more 20-minute sessions per day.

Do I need an acoustic piano?

It’s not necessary. You can start with a 88-weighted-keys piano. If you need help choosing an instrument, I would be glad to help you find your best fit.

Which language are the lessons in?

I can comfortably teach both in English and Spanish.

In their words

Student Experiences

I decided to wait until my retirement to return to the piano, which meant starting completely from scratch. I am so glad I found a teacher as patient, knowledgeable, and friendly as Luis. He brings a calm, kind energy to every class, tailoring the sessions to my favorite songs and my specific learning pace. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn.

Even though we are continents apart, weekly Zoom lessons with Luis are seamless and effective. He is an extremely patient teacher who knows how to tailor exercises for adult beginners. I cannot recommend him enough.
