I am far from the typical classical musician who started learning piano as a kid.

Music always pulled at me, but I didn't take piano seriously until I turned 18.

I quickly realized that adult students aiming to become professional musicians are rare. Despite the odds, I poured all my energy and passion into this almost impossible goal.

I studied piano, music theory, and composition with a private teacher, who gave me a solid grounding in the fundamentals. I dedicated myself to improving as quickly as possible to catch up with normal piano students, and after several years I decided to take the leap and pursue formal training at a Conservatory, so I set off for Spain.

Since 2022, I've been studying at the Conservatorio Superior de Badajoz, Spain, where I've grown both as a musician and as a person, gaining new knowledge and experience while immersing myself in a high-performance musical environment that has truly put my skills to the test.

Now, I want to share my experience with other music students who may not fit the mold of a typical pianist.

How I became a teacher...

I became a music teacher by accident while on vacation. A lovely couple who owned a hotel were looking for a teacher to give their son some piano lessons. They lived in a remote town and couldn't find a piano teacher nearby.

A friend of mine who lived close by referred me to them. That's when I gave my very first piano lesson, and it changed my life!

Having the ability to impact the life of a child who wanted to learn what he saw as the "magic" behind music inspired me to give everything I knew and share my passion for music with him. Now, some years later, I'm still teaching music!

I've been teaching piano for more than 10 years, both at academies and privately.

My teaching style isn't hierarchical. I like to sit down and talk through my students' questions with them, helping them reach their goals. I enjoy connecting with them and sharing my passion, guiding them toward their own solutions, and helping them learn to truly listen to themselves.

Academic Qualifications

  • Lessons with Eduardo Florencia at the Ecuadorian National Symphony.
  • Composition workshop at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador.
  • Piano studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Badajoz.

Artistic Activities

  • Piano and chamber music recitals in Ecuador, Spain, Portugal, and Germany.
  • Concerts and activities with the ´´Coro Vocalis´´ choir as accompanying pianist.
  • Work at several music schools in Ecuador and Spain.
  • Online piano teaching since the start of the 2020 pandemic.
